What Is Infrared Thermal Imaging?

Things that are seen by the naked eye are seen because of light (energy).

Colors are seen by the different wave lengths of the light (energy).

Most of us are all familiar with the visible light  spectrum. 

What we see, and everything we see, is in the spectrum of light between

Red and Violet.

Note that you cannot see Gamma Rays or Micro Waves.

Because of different levels of energy of the light you are seeing, you see different colors .

because instead of using light to see, it uses heat.

How Does Infrared Thermal Imaging Work?


Infrared Thermal Imaging detects

heat instead of light to make a photograph. This is a handy tool for a home inspector. 

Different temperatures of different materials are easily detected with a

Infrared Thermal Image.



 




Why Is This So Important?

because


Water is a Buildings Biggest Enemy

The deep wall moisture probe was reading an extreme moisture problem

If the water infiltration was not noticed,

by the time they did notice it,

the damage to finishes and or structure

could have been much, much, worse.

Like when
 

water damage was not noticed until the paint started peeling off of the ceiling.

If the wall below was to be painted, the paint would have peeled off also.

There would be no where for the moisture to go and it would be trapped.

Thus peeling the paint.
